Johannes Gérson Janzen
Prof. Johannes completed his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) in 2000. He received a Master (2003) and Ph.D (2006) in Hydraulics and Sanitation from University of São Paulo (USP). During his Ph.D, he spent a year at the Institute for Hydromechanics (IfH) of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Johannes spent three years (2006-2009) as a professor at the Federal University of Rondônia (UNIR). He joined UFMS in 2010, becoming Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering. In 2013/14, he worked a year as a post-doc in Nepf Lab of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Since to his appointment at UFMS, Johannes has been working to broaden PGTA’s global visibility, to develop enhanced education and research opportunities for students, and to develop and disseminate knowledge that has impact.
